KDE developers announced the second Release Candidate, and the last development release of the upcoming and highly anticipated KDE Software Compilation (KDE SC) 4.4. This development release, dubbed CampKDE, is here as a testing base for all of you who want to report bugs. The final release of KDE Software Compilation 4.4 will be available in exactly two weeks from now, on February 9th. KDE SC 4.4 is composed of the KDE Plasma Workspace, the KDE Applications and the KDE Development Platform.

Fedora 12 Beta is available for download
Now its time for Fedora fans to test the Beta release of the upcoming Fedora 12 (Constantine) Linux distribution, announced a few minutes ago by the Fedora Project developers. This release is powered by Linux kernel 2.6.31.4, and it includes the KDE 4.3.2 and GNOME 2.28.0 desktop environments. Moblin support was also added in this release, as well as better power management, audio, webcam and video codec support. GNOME Shell is also available for testing, in the default software repository, and it will offer a preview of how GNOME 3 will look like. However, checking the feature list for Fedora 12, it appears that the developers completed all of them.

Mandriva Linux 2010 ready to come
Currently the 2nd Release Candidate of the new version of Mandriva Linux has been released due to the final release this November. Now Mandriva 2010 RC2 available in many mirrors.
The features of this release include the newly launched KDE 4.3.2 and GNOME 2.28.0 desktop environments, as well as the Linux kernel 2.6.31.2 and X.Org Server 1.6.3. Moreover, a Guest account was added in this release, and we believe that everyone knows how this works, from the Ubuntu operating system. Support for Poulsbo drivers was also added, but only in the One CDs. Netbook users were not forgotten, as Mandriva Linux 2010.0 RC2 is the first operating system to integrate the Moblin 2.0environment for mobile desktops! Last but not least, Nepomuk has been greatly improved.
