Ares Galaxy is a free and open source software. This application is used as a file sharing software and also bit torrent P2P application. Ares Galaxy is easy to use and can be installed on many platform like Windows and Linux. Although Ares works with Windows XP, it does not connect when using Windows 7 RTM. I hope a new build comes out that address the connectivity issue. Many review tell that this open source software is very fast, stable and easy to use.
Ares galaxy is a NEAR flawless site. It gives you amazingly quick downloads on popular files, and is virtually idiot proof. There is a small flaw in the program though and that is the media player it provides. Constantly skipping, however, this is easily fixed if you just play the files using realplayer or another alternative instead.

ARES is a simple program to use and setup. One downside, when compared to other programs like Soulseek, is the lack of ability to download entire folders. However, I have been able to consistently pull down audio and video at pretty good speeds. The network seems to have a decent smattering of audio, video and software. This is an easy program to use and master, recommended for beginners.
